Pirkei Avot is a distillation of the values that God gave at Mount Sinai, which were handed down from generation to generation. It is about ethics and tradition. The word avot means parents – fathers and mothers who ensured the uninterrupted transfer of Jewish values. In the same way, the values inherent in the Samson legacy have been passed down, ledor vador, from generation to generation.

So the ideal way to pay tribute to Eric's memory and to re-inspire ourselves in the year ahead – until the next yahrzeit –  is to to be invigorated, through the powerful teachings of Pirkei Avot, to do even more mitzvahs and spread more kindness.
