Herzlia is a Jewish community school aimed at providing a Jewish and secular education to the Jewish youth of Cape Town, regardless of religious affiliation.

Yom HaAtzmaut Educational Activities

Apart from the community function in the evening, we ran a set of hands-on educational Yom HaAtzmaut activities during the day, including Pita making, Israel-themed cake, and rowing in rafts across the school swimming pool in imitation of the ma’apilim, the blockade-busters during the British mandate. Unfortunately the photographer didn’t capture the banners, but these activities were done in tribute to Eric z”l.
